Click here for raised deck prices Click here for raised with pergola deck prices Over 10,000 deck kits have been sold in the last 9 years using the DIYdeals raised & ground deck systems. The advantages of DIYdeals' design of RAISED deck kits are: Longer life - as when using the post anchors no timber is directly in contact with the ground, where most rot occurs, and, as all timber is pressure treated, the raised decks will last for 25+ years. We offer 45mm x 145mm (2" x 6") Planed Timber for all joists which enable strong raised decks with easier fixing of decking screws - or you can use deckboards on edge for joists for a cheaper option. Joists come in 4 sizes 2..0m (6'7"), 3.0m (9'10"), 4.0m (13'2") & 5.0m (16'5"), which can be cut down to suit your deck size. No site levelling required - support joists are levelled using only 4, 6 or 9 (or more on the combined decks) timber posts, depending on the size of the deck, which can anchored to the ground with metal post anchors (optional), which keep timber posts off the ground and ensure the deck is anchored to prevent uplift during strong winds. GROUND decks do not require posts, anchors or bolts and require fewer joists - they are therefore less expensive than raised decks. They have the joists resting on the ground which reduces the life of the deck to 15+ years. Ground decks may use 45mm x 95mm (2" x 4") or 45mm x 145mm (2" x 6") as joists. Deck boards have 9 grooves on one side and have a combed effect on the reverse enabling boards to be used either way. Spacing of deck boards should be 149mm to150mm from the front on the deck board to the front of the next - this will leave a gap of 4mm to 8mm depending on the dryness of the deck boards which when wet will measure 146mm and when dry will be 142mm. Choice of 225 standard RAISED deck sizes using 45mm x 145mm and 9 sizes using deck boards on edge- There is also listed 9 raised decks with pergola. Choice of 225 standard GROUND deck sizes in both 95mm (4") & 145mm (6")- All the ground decks use corner brackets for joining joists and decking screws for fixing deck boards to the joists. You may wish to cut these sizes down to make a smaller deck. Deck kits may also be joined together to form a larger deck. The lists of standard ground deck kit prices & raised deck kit prices are for your guidance and show what is included in each of the decks. These Standard decks use the timber as supplied with little or no cutting.
